What is Teletherapy?
For the most part, teletherapy operates in much the same way as traditional therapy sessions. The big difference is that the participants are not in the same room. Teletherapy is a way of conducting therapy that has been growing and has become more popular in recent years. We have been using teletherapy at CNLD Testing & Therapy for several years now, well before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Teletherapy can be used for many forms of counseling, including:
- Adult Teletherapy
- Couples Teletherapy
- Child and Teen Teletherapy
- Family Teletherapy
- Depression Counseling
- Anxiety Counseling
- Trauma Therapy
- Anger Management
- Grief Counseling
- …and Much More
Using HIPAA compliant and secure technology, a therapy session can be conducted via video on your computer, smart phone or tablet and even over the phone. Through our secure platform, you can interact with your clinician just as he/she would if it was an in-person session. Teletherapy is becoming increasingly more popular due to the convenience and our present circumstances, plus research has shown it to be as effective as in-person therapy.
If you’d like to schedule an appointment for teletherapy, contact CNLD Testing & Therapy at (734) 994-9466.
Is Teletherapy Covered by My Insurance?
Our clinic accepts most Blue Cross plans. These insurance plans will cover and treat teletherapy sessions in the same way as if you were in our office. Our office will work with you to verify your benefits.
Is Teletherapy Effective for Younger Children?
This depends on the goals and where your child is developmentally. When teletherapy is the only option, our therapists can partner with you to work on developing an approach that will be productive, engaging to your child, flexible and help work on achieving your goals. In many cases, the work on behalf of young children may be largely working with the parents.
Are Teletherapy Appointments Confidential?
At CNLD Testing & Therapy, we strive to provide privacy and confidentiality for all therapy services. Teletherapy sessions are scheduled just like regular therapy appointments. We will work with you to identify a time and location within your home or office that will allow for privacy. We will also help you with the technology to make it easy. Our secure teletherapy platform provides optimal protection, even if you can’t see your therapist in person.
