Rebekah Lauer LMSW

Rebekah Lauer is a fully Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Knox College majoring in Gender and Women’s Studies and received her Master’s in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis where she concentrated in mental health with a specialization in sexual health and education.

Most recently, Rebekah worked in St. Louis, Missouri for several years as a clinical therapist embedded in schools providing therapy for students’ grades K-12. Prior to that, Rebekah worked in the Student Counseling and Life Development Department at Webster University in St. Louis, as a therapist with clients ages 18-65 for clinical training.

Rebekah is finishing her AASECT Sex Educator certification and is passionate about working with people who want to better understand and explore their sexuality in developmentally appropriate ways, particularly people finding their way back from trauma. Rebekah’s practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming.

Rebekah implements a person centered, strength-based and holistic perspective. Rebekah tailors her therapeutic approach for each individual’s goals for therapy. She utilizes different therapeutic modalities (such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques, Mindfulness, etc.) Rebekah believes the client is the expert in their life experiences and hopes to create a supportive space for clients to process and explore who they are, determine their therapeutic goals and work together to identify paths for healing and growth.
