Tyler Ryan, M.A., TLLP

Tyler Ryan, Ph.D., is a post-doctoral fellow at CNLD and a limited licensed psychologist in the State of Michigan. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. from Michigan State University in school psychology. Prior to his graduate work, Dr. Ryan completed his B.A. in psychology at Ferris State University while working as a behavior technician providing in-home Applied Behavior Analysis therapy to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

During his graduate training at MSU, Dr. Ryan completed practicum experiences within various public schools where he conducted special education evaluations and provided academic intervention and consultation. He also completed a practicum experience at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital working as a psychometrist in the Neuropsychology Department. Dr. Ryan completed his pre-doctoral internship at the University of Michigan providing therapy to children in primary care settings, pediatric oncology, and a medical trauma clinic. Dr. Ryan’s dissertation focused on the development of neuropsychological assessment indices in conjunction with his mentor, Dr. Jodene Fine, a CNLD neuropsychologist.

Dr. Ryan is currently working as a clinician conducting neuropsychological evaluations. While conducting these evaluations, he works closely with the staff neuropsychologists at CNLD. Dr. Ryan plans to become board certified in pediatric neuropsychology following the completion of his fellowship.

Dr. Ryan’s specialties are learning disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders (including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and autism spectrum disorder), and mild traumatic brain injuries. He also has experience working with complex neurological and psychiatric presentations. His philosophy of assessment and treatment, more generally, is a comprehensive and collaborative approach between children, families, and clinicians. Dr. Ryan is passionate about removing barriers to education through precise and accurate assessment, along with thorough intervention planning. He is delighted to provide services at CNLD and receive training under the supervision of a passionate and committed team.
