Robert K. Lamoureux, MMFT, LMFT, LPC, NCC, CART

Rob Lamoureux is a licensed marriage and family therapist and licensed professional counselor both here in Michigan and in Texas. He is also a nationally certified counselor through NBCC and completed the certification as an Anger Resolution Therapist.

He earned his masters in marriage and family therapy from Trevecca University in Nashville, TN where he spent 14 years working in multiple positions in addictions treatment and residential programs including case management, financial services, insurance, and management. Mr. Lamoureux noticed that the family aspects of addictions were often the most difficult part at the end of treatment for the family and for the recovering person. He specializes in seeing couples and families post-treatment. Working through their trauma to reform their lives, relationships and for the family to learn how to work with someone recovering. He is open to many recovering options from AA to Mindfulness to other cognitive models.

Mr. Lamoureux spent 6 years in Houston in private practice as a clinician with a specialty in interfaith/intercultural relationships as well as GBLTQ community. His work with couples from a systemic point-of-view has offered many successes for his clients. Relational and family work doesn’t end there. He works closely with play therapists, psychologists, and psychiatry in multi-faceted teams with coordination of care for the best outcomes for clients. He also worked with a number of CEO’s internally and externally to motivate systemic change to enhance their businesses, conflict resolution, and other positive results.

He is currently completing the process to be a American Association of Marriage & Family Therapist (AAMFT) Supervisor. Mr. Lamoureux enjoys working with new professionals through graduate school programs, postgraduate supervision, or for those moving towards licensure. Ongoing supervision for those who seek a systemic theoretical reference to therapy is also an excellent way to add to this form of thinking to your skills. He is currently taking supervisees. Mr. Lamoureux has retained membership in the AAMFT since 2007, and is currently a clinical member.
