Hannah Spencer, MA, LPC, NCC
Hannah is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Michigan as well as a nationally certified counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
Hannah earned her Masters degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary in Littleton, Colorado. There she worked in a residential treatment program for women focusing on trauma recovery, addiction treatment, and case management. She then moved on to provide services at a community mental health center in Aurora, CO. Here she specialized in treatment of severe and persistent mental illness, working with individuals and their families to provide therapy, education, and advocacy to enable them to navigate life with a mental illness. During this time, she was able to facilitate several therapy groups including DBT and anger management. Hannah has also had the opportunity to work in small clinic settings seeing a variety of clients, including men, women, children, and couples.
Hannah enjoys working with individuals and couples in many different life phases, primarily focusing on adults. She enjoys helping people gain mastery over problematic symptoms, as well as develop further insight into how and why these issues have come about. Her practice focuses on clinical issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress management, relationship issues, career satisfaction, emotion regulation, grief, mood disorders, spirituality, and mindfulness. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches in her work, including CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, and family systems, tailoring her approach to suite each individual client’s goals for therapy. She is also trained as an Executive Function coach.
